Interview Questions
If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?
-
I would go back to Hawaii if I could be anywhere in the world. I traveled there in February of my freshman year of high school for a volleyball tournament and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Throughout this seven day trip, my mom and I got to experience a new part of the world neither of us had been to, as well as spend valuable time with my teammates and best friends.
What motivates you?
-
I am a self-motivated person. I love to challenge myself to be better everyday. My life goal is to be the best I can be. My attitude and effort are two aspects of my life I can control. This goal has motivated me in other aspects of my life, such as sports and academics.
What are your greatest weaknesses?
-
I think my greatest weakness is saying “no” to others. I love to help others and sometimes put their needs before mine. This often leads to high levels of stress on my behalf, however, because I am very organized and highly structured, I am always able to help those around me and get my work done on time.
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
-
In ten years, I see myself going into my fifth full year of teaching kindergarten or first grade students. I am not sure where I want to teach quite yet, but I do hope to make positive changes in the school district in which I am teaching. I also hope to have a husband and start a family with three or four children.
What qualities make a good leader?
-
In order to be a successful leader, I think trust and accountability are two important traits. I also think it is important for leaders to communicate what is going on and what still needs to get done. To me, over communicating is much better than no communication at all. I think it is vital for leaders to be able to handle conflict and resolve any issues that arise. All leaders should set good examples with high standards for those around them.
You're a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?
-
I would be the color yellow. Yellow is the color of happiness and sunshine to me. I hold a positive outlook on all aspects of my life. It is a bright color and I match the energy of the color. Both the color itself and the associations with it are positive and put others in a happier mood.
